The Latest Technology
Medical Center of Trinity will employ the latest advances in digital and wireless technology, including:
Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
PACS will digitally store and transmit medical images, decreasing the need for film storage. This creates greater efficiency and turnaround time to referring physicians, thus improving patient care.
Patient Tracker
Patient Tracker is an electronic tracking system that tells a healthcare professional or physician, in real time, exactly where a patient is located in the facility. This will reduce patient wait time and improve the physician's efficiency.
Electronic Medical Administration Record (EMAR)
EMAR is a patient safety initiative for the safe delivery of medications. It allows the healthcare professional to communicate more efficiently. It will also safeguard to be sure the right medication is given to the right patient, including patient allergy information.
Wireless Technology
The entire facility will be wireless so computers and other equipment can be used anywhere without having to be hardwired to a network. Medical Center of Trinity will also have guest networking. When patients and visitors come to the hospital, they can bring their own laptop and have Internet access.
Point-of-Care Testing
Point-of-care testing allows for lab tests to be performed outside the central lab at sites throughout the facility. Lab testing machines can be docked throughout the building and information downloaded to the hospital computer system which the central lab can review. This will show results faster to the physician and healthcare professional.
Pharmacy Scanners
Scanners will be located at nursing stations to scan pharmacy orders from physicians directly to the pharmacist entering orders. This will decrease the turnaround time for medication to reach the patient.
Patient Monitoring Interface
Patient monitoring results will be sent to the hospital computer system so physicians will have fast access and real-time patient information anywhere in the hospital.
